Customers Reviews 2010-05-22 Best cell phone cover I have ever used! I bought the Otterbox Defender even before I bought my iPhone and boy am I glad I did! Last week, I accidentally dropped my iPhone down a sewer, while it was pouring down raining. I had to call the county to come and help me get it out, but it took them over an hour to get to me. Hence, my phone (in the Otterbox Defender cover) lay covered in water for all of that time. When they finally got the phone out of the sewer, amazingly enough, the phone was working. I immediately took the cover off to let it dry out and see what damage there was to the phone. It seems unharmed, with only a few drops of water on it. Now, I can't say that that was the end of the story and all was well. Obviously, some water and condensation did enter the phone and, unfortunately, you can not take the iPhone apart to let it dry out. It 'died' on several occasions over the next few days and then the Apple kept coming up (thinking/rebooting). The phone came back several times and I was able to use it, but then it would die again. I left the cover off for 4 days to let it completely dry out and, FINALLY, after all that time, my iPhone is like new! This cover saved my phone!!! It may not be waterproof, but it definitely did not allow a lot of water to penetrate it, not does it have any physical damage from the fall down the sewer. I will definitely buy and recommend this cover to all who have an iPhone or any other phone for that matter. I hope none of you go through what I went through, but just knowing that this cover is 'covering' your investment should be a great relief. | 2010-05-22 awesome this is the exact same product that you will pay $40+ for locally at most retailers. this thing is as tough as they come. | 2010-05-21 Soso Ihe OtterBox provides protection for your phone, but you can't see clearly in bright sunlight. The protective screen cover is easily scratched and increases the difficulty in viewing the screen icons. | 2010-05-19 Great so far! It's been only like a month but I have to say I have no regrets of buying this case. I was a bit concern about the screen and the belt holtsler, because of the reviews I read. Actually my screen is not greasy and well my phone has not falled from the belt holster but I really don't use it that much. I can charge it with the case on if it's with the regular apple charger, my only complain is that it is really hard to separate the case from the phone (for me because my husband does it in seconds) and if I want to use my iPhone with the ihome system I can't seem to separate it. This is my only complain but it still is a great cover especially if you have kids. | 2010-05-19 works as advertised, but comes with issues The Otter Box definitely protects your iPhone from damage. However, its bulk makes it hard to select items on the edge of the screen, and keeps me from using it with my iPhone dock.

Fire Protection for your iPhone: New Case by OtterBoxDo you want your beloved iPhone truly protected against…anything? I think that I’ve found a great solution for you. There is case called OtterBox Armor Series. It is stronger that Arnold Schwarzenegger, stronger that Bin Laden, even stronger than Robo-cop.
The features of the Armor Series:
- Fits 4GB, 8GB, and 16GB iPhones
- comes in yellow or black Waterproof
- dustproof
- dirtproof
- sandproof
- drop-proof
- Screen protected by a PATENTED thin membrane which remains fully functional through the case
- Two easy open compound latches secure the case
- iPhone is cradled by impact absorbing rubber on all sides
- External phone jack maintains the microphone and click button functionality of the Apple headphones or usable with any style headphones with a standard mini stereo plug (1/8″)
- Weight (Case Only): 4.5oz
- Dimensions: 5.8 x 3.2 x 1
At first sight the case seems a little too bulky, but when you read the protection features you get to understand what this bulk is caused by. The case is for those who want to speak over their iPhone in the open space. Water, sand, dust is no longer a problem. Fighting for Nepal’s liberty? Don’t forget to cover your iPhone with Armor Series case.
Getting the phone into the case is a piece of cake. You simply slide it into the case which opens like a clamshell and fasten the latches back into their place. The major disadvantage of the construction is that you can talk via headphones only.
The Verdict
Armor Series is the top model in the product line of OtterBox. It is made for those who need the maximum protection for their phone and want to use in the “extremest” conditions imaginable.
The price of the device is $69.95. That is not cheap, but you really get the protections you pay for. If you need that kind of 110% protection the case won’t be a sheer waste of money. To my mind no case is able to compete with Armor Series in the degree of phone protection.
