Good sturdy case -- avoid SF Planet though
I like this case a lot. Earlier I was using a cheap plastic case that I got as a part of "7 ItemS Accessory Combo for Sony Ericsson W580i W580" but it broke in a few weeks.
The solid black ruberized case gives a nice grip to the phone. Without the case I was always afraid of dropping the phone while sliding it open. With the case that problem is no longer there. I liked it so much that I ordered another one for my wife's w580i. However I would like to caution everyone that you should order it from BargainCell and not from SF planet. The one I got from SF planet does not let the charger snug in while the case is on. I had to remove the case in order to charge it. The previous case from BargainCell has no such issues. I contacted SF Planet for a resolution and I will update my feedback if they are able to resolve this issue.
20Nov2008 update: SF Planet is going to send me another case since they believe that the piece I got earlier might be defective. I will change my reviews if the replacement case fits the charger.

material & working very good. I like it. But only color is black. sony ericsson w580 had about 6 color phone at market. I can find the other color to match my phone.

does the job
The very first time I dropped by W580 phone the screen cracked and the phone was rendered useless without a $100 replacement screen. This led me to my purchase of this snap-on cover, which fits perfectly. Haven't dropped it again yet, so I can't say for sure that will work, but the peace of mind is important and I can feel that the covering is sturdy and will take on some of the impact of a drop. I'd recommend it for the low cost.

w 580i case
they product was shipped quickly and got here quickly but when i put the back cover on it was misshapen, and so when i put it on it didn't let the phone open correctly and got stuck. i bent it a little just seeing what exactly was the problem and it broke.

Good Cheap Case
This is exactly what I was looking for. I wanted a case for this phone that is not permanent, allows you to access all of the buttons, has a belt clip, and looks good. This satisfied all of those requirements for a small price.
It comes in two pieces, one for the front and one for the back so you can still slide the phone open. The back piece has an attachment for the belt clip which you can remove when not using it. You can charge the phone with the case on. My gray w580 looks great with this black case attached and it feels safer. Less likely to slip out of your hand. The rubbery texture is perfect, not too hard or rough. Keep in mind that the screen is still exposed.
The front piece can be difficult to attach. At first I thought my case was defective and would not fit but because one corner simply didn't snap on. Eventually I got it and was relieved. What a nice little case.
September 14, 2008 edit: After owning the case for a few months, I still like it a lot. It is easy to attach and detach. I initially thought the front piece was hard to get on but now I can do it with ease.
