Customers Reviews 2008-06-27 Awesome deal, great headset!! I bought this headset after a lot of searching and reading the reviews here on Amazon! I had happy I bought this. First, hats off to Amazon for their on time delivery! This is a great deal. For the price, this headset is really worth every cent. Some have commented on the quality of music through this headset, but I have no complaints. Also, for 35 dollars, we cannot expect BOSE speaker quality sound! Overall, a great deal!! | 2008-06-24 Comfortable!! Very comfortable, great sound!! Comes with a USB cable that can be used to charge the device. Lightweight! | 2008-06-24 It works with W580i, mostly... I bought these for working out. They pair somewhat problematically with my Sony W580i. When they are paired, the music quality is just OK, but good enough for what I require. They seem to drop the music connection every so often and the phone will only play through the on-board speaker. To cure this problem it requires cycling the phone off and on (turning the headset off and on has no effect). I don't know about the voice quality as I haven't ever used it for phone calls.
The music skips dependent upon the location of the phone as well as the position of your body. The connection is generally good while running or walking with the phone on my hip, however, the same location while cycling the music to skip so much that it is not listenable. Moving the phone to another location cures the problem.
The lights on the earpieces are a bit annoying. They must be turned off after every time the headphones are turned on or charged. When the lights are turned off, there is no other indicator to tell you that the unit is powered on.
The headphones are comfortable and the behind the neck design allows me to use them with my bike helmet. The ear pads are a bit hot, but similar to other over the ear headphones.
The low cost is what caused me to buy this headset. If I had it to do again, I would shell out the extra money in hopes of getting something that would be more reliable in use.
| 2008-06-09 Very Nice Headphones. This is my second pair of the BT620 headphones (my wife stole the first one). I am almost an audiophile and these headphones are good enough for me. The bass levels are pretty good and all the rest of the frequency distribution is balanced. For talking on the phone I have tried it with 2 blackberries (7290 & 8820) and a Nokia. This works well with all of them. On the 7290 the audio quality is better than the built in microphone and speaker. These cancel out an appreciable amount of background noise as well and makes talking from a crowded place without shouting quite natural.
The headphones fit quite comfortably. I can wear them through the 10 hour work day (of course off during lunch) comfortably. Same with my wife, and our head sizes are not the same to say the least. The headphones feel flimsy the first time you take them out of the box, but are quite sturdy and can take a lot of abuse. (I have had one pair for about an year and still is going strong.)
I am an electrical engineer and work on bluetooth enabled products, so you can imagine there are at least 10 different bluetooth connections in my environment continuously. The headphones never have any trouble even in that environment. The range I get is about 20ft through walls and a lot of metal.
As I said I wear them through the 10 hour work day and have never had the battery die on me. I leave it charging for the night and the next day they are back to normal. I guess the older headphone should be coming to the end of its battery life because of being deep cycled continuously (Li Ion batteries don't take that well) but I think finding an after market battery replacement should be pretty easy for them. They use a standard size single cell 320mAh battery.
I would definitely recommend these over Logitech Free Pulse or their older model. I tried those out before I got my second pair of the Jabra, and was not satisfied with them at all (Uncomfortable and bad bluetooth connection). | 2008-06-02 Works as advertised I was able to quickly get these headphones up and running. I immediately wore them to listen to a 3 hour baseball game with no discomfort. Of course, I have been wearing over-the-ear headphones with a behind-the-head strap for years, as I intensely dislike ear-bud style headphones, so I am used to the fit and feel of this style of headphones.
I also found that the headphones provided plenty of volume (another negative that others have mentioned), even though I am hard of hearing in one ear.
Negatives: while comfortable, the earpieces are quite large, and the flashing blue lights on each earpiece when the headphones are paired and communicating with a device look positively silly, so these headphones will make a decidedly unhip fashion statement. While I read in the documentation that there is a way to turn those off (which I will do at my earliest opportunity), if looking cool is a key consideration for you in selecting headphones, these may not be your best choice. |
