Customers Reviews 2008-07-23 Great headset I'm using this headset with a T-Mobile Wing that also works as my MP3 player. Also using it for my laptop and home PC. Great sound and so far has been very dependable. The only issue I had was with connecting to my laptop, after a quick update from Dell the headset has worked great. Use it all day at work. | 2008-07-21 For it's intended use, good but... When I got this product in the mail, when I took it out, the very first thing I noticed was how enormous the headphones were. I didn't realize this when I ordered them because the photos always show these earphones at a certain angle. The reason why I bought these was to have a wireless solution to listening to music on the street and on the subway here in New York. If I were to grade this based on the use of this product, then I would give this product 4 stars. It worked well with my phone.
However, being a shallow New Yorker, I was too self-conscious to wear these out in public because they're so large. There is at least an inch of headphone that juts out of your ear. Not only that, it's tagged with a huge Motorola M logo on it. So for those who don't mind having huge headphones jutting out of your ear, you can get these earphones. As for me, I got rid of these after one use. | 2008-07-21 Almost perfect, Causes Mac to go into Kernel Panic I would give it 5 if my computer will stop crashing, I am not sure who's at fault my computer software or the device.
Pros:
Sound quality is impressive, no difference between my set of full headphones and the HT-820.
Easy set-up with a Macbook 10.5.3
Battery life (at least 6 hours...)
Comfortable to wear for long periods of time (4+ hours).
Price (under $40).
CON:
After using the headphones for about 6 hours I got a kernel panic, rebooted repair permissions, updated to 10.5.4 and 10 minutes later another one.
Four Kernel Panics total in 2 days. First time ever (16 months) I have suffered a kernel panic in this computer.
I am back to my old wired headphones until I can find a fix and will update the review.
| 2008-07-17 Decent Sound, really uncomfortable Just as others here have said, these headphones are really uncomfortable. I wear these sometime at work to drown out the office while I work, but I can't keep them on for very long because they get very warm on my head and they press my ears down to the point that it gets painful. I also feel ridiculous when I wear them because they look odd... to say the least.
On a good note, battery life is pretty good, and while I'm not an audiophile, the sound compares well with my Bose TriPort In-Ear Headphones.
| 2008-07-15 WOW, thats all I can say!!!! The Motorola T820 headset has honestly blown me away! The headset has great sound in true stereo (make sure your device is A2DP compliant before you whine about crappy sound) and is complimented by deep bass and excellent sounding treble. The headset was a cinch to pair with ALL of my devices that I have tried pairing which includes my Verizon XV6700 phone, my Dell 9700 laptop, my desktop computer with an AZIO USB bluetooth stick, and my PS3. ALL devices paired flawlessly and work well with the device correctly the first time with NO need to fix any problems. This has by far been one of the best purchases I have made as far as headphones are concerned because the BT headset does everything that it says it will do correctly the first time. I mostly keep the headset paired with my Desktop computer because I work late at night and when I use my computer I like to turn up the volume but will move about my home office. I didn't want to disturb my wife as she slept so I invested in these headphones. One advantage I have found to this set is that I can have it paired to my computer AND it will still maintain pairing to my Verizon XV6700 phone, which is a great advantage to me because if I am cranking out a homework assignment and get a call, I may not hear it right away. With this headset it will pause my music and let me know the number of the caller and who it is if I have that information available. The battery life is about 15 hours of use that I have seen (listening to music) and standby time is ridiculous. This headset even controls Microsoft Windows Media Player natively from the headset without any need for configuration. The headset comes with a nice carrying bag a charging cable, a USB cable, and even a regular "male to male" headphone cord for when the batteries are depleted. This is definitely a great choice for anyone looking for a decent pair of headphones on the Bluetooth platform. |
