Ouriel Ohayon has come up with a list of 9 things which are simply necessary to be on the upcoming iPhone. Here you are:

1. Copy/paste

The device should have a real feature but now a fake as the one it has now

2. Training tour

When you take your new iPhone in your hands you should be taught how to use it. At the moment there is no specially designed application which can show you the major capabilities of the device

3. Auto Complete Dial Mode

The thing is that when you want to call a person you have to go to the contact list and then choose the name with the phone number. A better solution is the one which is used in Blackberry and which is called auto complete

4. Wireless PC synchronization

The current version of iPhone doesn’t have this option. Some application enable consultation with the data, but none of them give you a chance to use it. Such a feature is a real must.

5. Easy backup solution

At the moment there are dozens of complicated apps that help you back your phone up. Some of them require being online. What is needed is a direct iPhone option that will enable you to backup your device offline.

6. Desktop Search option

Having quite an extensive hard memory such an option would be very useful. File search by type, date and size seems to be an obvious thing iPhone should posses.

7. Esay delete function

It is quite shocking that a gadget so advanced should not have delete function for all files. While emails and videos are easy to delete, other huge files, like for instance, audio podcasts cannot be deleted directly from iPhone without attaching it to a PC.

8. Single login for Youtube and iTunes

The thing about iPhone is that having access to a great number of web application and services you have to login each time over and over again. There is no history in iPhone.

9. True Bluetooth

File transfer should be included into Bluetooth option. At the moment iPhone’s Bluetooth can be used for Headset and file transfer is not enabled. Bluetooth should be a full-quality one.

cect-p168.jpg Apple’s iPhone is considered to be an absolute top seller. And even though the costs, especially including the phone contract, are still pretty high, this device enjoys popularity. Some pleasant news is likely coming from Asia. A low-cost substitute, the CECT P168, has already been available for a few months in Taiwan. According to the internet rumors, the price of this iPhone replica is somewhat aroud Ā£100. This gadget has a large touch screen display and an Apple like operating system.

The knock-off goes so far that even the well known apple logo appears when booting. The 240 x 320 pixel touch screen provides enough room. The Mp3 and Mp4 player, as well as a 1.3 inch megapixel camera, supply the entertainment and all standard mobile phone functions, such as text messaging, are on board too. The iPhone clone even offers hand writing recognition, although WLAN is missing in comparison to the original. However, in one area the iPhone has been outdone – the CECT supports dual-SIM, although both SIM cards are not simultaneously online and instead one must be chosen with software. Two 1,800 mAh batteries are included – which should allow the P168 to last longer than most smartphones on the market. The clone is reaching Europe more and more often and perhaps it has all the inclinations to become a low-cost iPhone substitute.

Impact Policy by iPhone: Does it Really Dominate the Market? Part 2

More than that Google has recently announced that the majority of mobile searches in its network is happening via iPhones.

However, a new report by Admob tends to challenge the data received by M:Metrics. They’ve given a chart that shows that the most frequently used device for downloading data or simply working in the Internet is Motorola KRZR K1c. And iPhone is nowhere to be found in the chart! Don’t you think that it is at least strange that these huge companies have revealed quite the opposite data?

Another study has been conducted by TKG. The study was researching into the interest to iPhone from the audience. The study has revealed that iPhone isn’t that popular as it is advertised nowadays. It is certainly a mainstream product in certain (sorry for a tautology) circles, but not among the average customers:

iphone_chart_2.jpg

So what can we conclude out of all the provided data? I would say that iPhone has an impact and will rather have than not. But in terms of the actual penetration and domination of the market I wouldn’t be so sure. It is just getting into the mainstream. As is obvious from the M:Metrics report it is especially true for the sphere of mobile search and browser capabilities.

To cut the long story short, Apple iPhone (together with Google Android) are aimed at rising the existing levels of hardware standards. So what? – you can ask. It means that all the mobile Internet activities will reach far beyond the traditional WAP application and maneuvers. It sounds encouraging, doesn’t it?

So let us now make the final conclusion. Is the impact of iPhone that huge or not? I would try to work out a kind of compromise: the impact of iPhone is not extremely huge these days, BUT it all goes to iPhone being one of the major mobile Internet platforms in the near future.
