Impact Policy by iPhone: Does it Really Dominate the Market? Part 2

More than that Google has recently announced that the majority of mobile searches in its network is happening via iPhones.

However, a new report by Admob tends to challenge the data received by M:Metrics. They’ve given a chart that shows that the most frequently used device for downloading data or simply working in the Internet is Motorola KRZR K1c. And iPhone is nowhere to be found in the chart! Don’t you think that it is at least strange that these huge companies have revealed quite the opposite data?

Another study has been conducted by TKG. The study was researching into the interest to iPhone from the audience. The study has revealed that iPhone isn’t that popular as it is advertised nowadays. It is certainly a mainstream product in certain (sorry for a tautology) circles, but not among the average customers:

So what can we conclude out of all the provided data? I would say that iPhone has an impact and will rather have than not. But in terms of the actual penetration and domination of the market I wouldn’t be so sure. It is just getting into the mainstream. As is obvious from the M:Metrics report it is especially true for the sphere of mobile search and browser capabilities.

To cut the long story short, Apple iPhone (together with Google Android) are aimed at rising the existing levels of hardware standards. So what? – you can ask. It means that all the mobile Internet activities will reach far beyond the traditional WAP application and maneuvers. It sounds encouraging, doesn’t it?

So let us now make the final conclusion. Is the impact of iPhone that huge or not? I would try to work out a kind of compromise: the impact of iPhone is not extremely huge these days, BUT it all goes to iPhone being one of the major mobile Internet platforms in the near future.
