I was wondering what device comes closest to iPhone in popularity and functionality. In order to find this out I run a Google search and came up with the device that seems to be the biggest competitor of the iPhone. I myself will definitely stick with my iPhone, but, to tell you the truth, the audience supports the other way of thinking.
So, let me introduce to you the most probable iPhone competitor – LG Voyager. When I was researching into the nature of iPhone fakes I never thought that one of those phones can ACTUALLY substitute the iPhone. But I got a comment on the post saying that Voyager was released before the iPhone (so it cannot naturally be its clone), and the functionality of the device is even higher that than of the iPhone. At first I didn’t believe a word from that comment, but gradually I got interested and decided to make a sort of comparison. In my research I relied on the opinions of the audience.
iPhone vs. LG Voyager

1. Appearance:
iPhone
“It goes without saying that the iPhone is a sexy device. Its luscious touch screen, slim profile, and sleek lines are hard to beat.”
“I always say there’s beauty in simplicity, and I think the iPhone’s sleek-but-minimal design makes it sexier than the Voyager. Plus, you can’t help but be mesmerized by its beautiful touch screen.”
LG Voyager
“Though it’s not quite as stylish as the iPhone, the Voyager is no ugly duckling either. I’m a fan of the trim dimensions and the big and brave display”
“The LG Voyager isn’t a bad looking phone, but its thicker body is a bit of a turn-off for me.”
So which device won this nomination? I would say that iPhone. Let’s write it down: 1-0 for iPhone
2. Navigation
iPhone
“Save for a single button, the iPhone is all touch screen. On the whole, the interface is easier to use then I expected, and the multitouch feature certainly is pretty, but I still enjoy buttons. That’s why I have to give it to the Voyager this round”
“Navigating the iPhone is quite easy, thanks to the its multitouch abilities and the easy-to-use touch screen interface. But the lack of keys does require a learning curve, especially when typing out text messages”
LG Voyager
“The Voyager has one of the best alphabetic keyboards I’ve seen on a cell phone. It also does a fine job with its other internal controls, and the tactile feedback on the touch screen is very welcome”
The result: 1-1 draw
