5 Reasons iPhone is Not What I Wanted - Exposure

iphone_tricks.jpg

Yesterday I was as always browsing the Internet is search of new ideas and concepts to write about my beloved iPhone. Then my eyes caught the title: “5 Reasons iPhone is Not What I Wanted.

To tell you the truth, I was shocked at such a title. In fact, out there I’m always finding awkward (to put it mildly) titles. But this one is simply astonishing.

Getting interested I decided to read the post. And the 5 facts which as provided there are:

  1. No flexibility of Office suite syncing, editing, formatting
  2. No tap-hold cut/paste function
  3. No selection of multiple emails/texts
  4. It doesn’t do JAVA or FLASH
  5. Security on the iPhone is practically nonexistent

To my mind none of these points can stand its ground. Why? I’ll tell you why

  1. In fact, I’m a Mac user and MS Office seems a strange name to me (of course I know what’s that). It’s been a long time I’ve given up using MS products as they SIMPLY DON’T WORK
  2. Well, after all the iPhone is a phone but not a computer
  3. Old habits die hard, wait for the new generation and all the features you can imaging will be present there
  4. Though a lot of devices have flash and Java, I cannot say that I really need it. I don’t think that I would get happier if you could use these technologies in the iPhone
  5. Security? I just don’t understand that word in connection to the iPhone. Security is something relevant for MS, and as long as iPhone is Apple it is totally secure. All you need to do in order not to ruin that fact is not install applications by unreliable third-party developers. That’s it!

The fact that the iPhone does not the functionality of a PC makes the iPhone an iPhone. A multi-functional mobile device. Moreover, all the lacks and shortcomings of the current version are likely to be corrected in the new version which is to arrive quite soon.

The only thing I’m left to wonder about is the price of the new device. If it is as awesome as everyone expects it might cost a fortune. But if the price is reasonable I will definitely want to have one.

Download iPhone Tool Software Based On New Prototyping Platform Soon

Those companies that intend to create apps for Apple’s iPhone will be able to build  and try the latest programming template from iRise, a new prototyping platform. The El Segundo company introduced the template at the Software 2008 trade show in Las Vegas.

Companies has sold about 1.7 million units in the year’s first quarter, and respectable Apple forecasts 10 million iPhones in the market by the end of 2008. The case is that application iPhone builders had to get the code for being compatible with Safari browser. But Apple recently released software development kit that enables them to create applications for running directly on the phone.

irise.gifThe iRise software can create prototypes that simulate an application but don’t have any underlying code. This enables programmers and exterior developers design an application without any hurdles just for demonstration. Then decision-makers can see the software in functions and sign off on the project.

The template imitates the iPhone’s standard menu icons and can use sliders, zoom in and out of screens. Application developers can use it to create custom buttons, administer menu icons or designate the effects of actions, like double-tapping a button.

The iPhone simulations won’t run on an actual iPhone, rather on a desktop, manipulating with the virtual phone using a mouse. An iRise-based tool for using simulations can be downloaded for companies to send simulations to consumers and support feedback.

OneSpring design company in Atlanta already uses the iRise application simulation toolkit and calls it the SimDK (watch the video). OneSpring assisted in defining applications based on some other mobile platforms and that showed that iPhone’s display capabilities suggest more freedom for designers, while most applications for mobile devices are text-heavy.

The users of iRise can download iPhone tool software for free, which costs about $5,000 per seat. The OneSpring SimDK will start its proliferation from May 1 for $495.

Apple Gives 3G iPhone Full IM Functionality

Did you hear that Apple is developing a kind of IM (Instant message) system for the iPhone? This kind of conclusion can be made from the fact that Apple filed a patent for a “portable electronic device for instant messaging.” Though is doesn’t directly mean IM for the iPhone, but most likely the patent will be used in the new generation of iPhone.

So what does the patent add to the device? In fact it is IM option for touchscreen devices with the help of finger gestures.

The patent says that the new function works just like the current SMS option in the iPhone where is is possible to see whether the recipient received and read the message by the change of colors and pop-ups.

The further details of the patent say:

Portable device-based instant messaging (IM) services are becoming increasingly popular. But most IM services on portable electronic devices have a rudimentary user interface. It is cumbersome to create instant messages on such devices.

A user often needs to press a telephone keypad repeatedly to choose a character. It is also difficult to find and view previous instant messages. For example, it is inconvenient or even impossible for the user to view a series of previous messages with a particular user while composing a new message for that user.

Apple claims that the new technology will help avoid such problems as well as other difficulties with user interface for handset devices.

However, Apple did more than that in introducing IM system for the iPhone. Apple has released SDK for the iPhone, and as a part of the introduction AOL demonstrated an IM technology for both the iPhone and iTouch.

Moreover, Apple encourages third-party developers create and license similar applications. Once the applications are ready they should be made available for the general public to download. By the way, over 100 000 SDK downloads (SDK was launched on March 6, 2008) have been reported so far.

Apple declares a war on iPhone clones

The inevitable has happened. I expected this sooner or later. Apple’s declaration didn’t take anyone by surprise…wait…in fact it did! Apple was ready to take legal actions against the UK retailer Digital Playground, but fortunately for everybody the affair ended up peacefully.

Let me start from the beginning. It seems that Apple’s legal team is planning to decrease the increasing influx of iPhone fakes (especially the ones coming from the Chinese market via black and grey channels).

Apple has learned its previous mistakes and has covered the iPhone with patents “from top to toe”. This aggressive strategy in general does pay off. The copying of a great number of features beyond the touchscreen seems limited.

Nevertheless, the copyright is here for the Western world, and as we know China is not the Western world, so you see that copyright has rather vague borders there. The country has flooded the US market with hundreds of iPhone fake’s models. Some of there fakes even bare Apple’s logo, which is in its substance simply incredible.
Some of the stores sell these fakes all right. But recently they’ve had lots to think about. The other day Apple came with “all guns blazing” and “big bully boy tactics” against the UK retailer Digital Playground. Apple sent the company a letter saying that unless clones are eliminated from sales Apple will take legal action against the company. Apple accused the clones of having “the same overall impression as Apple’s registered design.

The companies came to an agreement before the case went to court. Apple not only wanted iPhone fakes out of sales but also all of them sent to it (as well as the prices, suppliers and all the additional information Apple might need during the investigation). In fact, Digital Playground didn’t have choice!

So, fake iPhone manufacturers fear Apple otherwise they’ll come to you! =)

iPhone Software Downloads: How to Choose Best?

iPhone Software Downloads: How to Choose Best?

iphone_software.jpg

Do you want to make the utmost of your iPhone? I’m sure you do. In fact, the iPhone is much more than just a mobile phone – it is a multi-purpose device. And this multi-purpose use is enabled by its versatile software. So, in order to make your iPhone an extremely useful and cool gadget you have to learn how to find the best software for it.

Which software solutions are better than others?

I suppose than the most important thing about the matter under discussion is which software to choose. We all differ, so does the choice of software differ from person to person. You need to give a careful thinking to form a general idea about what software is really necessary for you and what solutions you would like to posses. You need to realize the fact that there is so much software out there and you cannot have it all (even if you could, do you think that you would?), so you should concentrate on the items that you really need and that can help you.

You should consider one click iPhone software as one of the best choices available on the market at the moment. This software enables your phone to be an iPod, WiFi network and a phone simultaneously.

Apple worked thoroughly to supply you with the latest version of the software. You can install the update using a simple and user-friendly installation process. Moreover, installing apple software protects you from experiencing various bugs and errors during the installation.

Where Can I buy It?

When you have finally made up your mind on the software you need you naturally need to know where to buy one. In fact, your local iPhone retailer might have the items you want, but there are also specialty stores that have a wide range of software items available for you to choose from.

The options provided below are not the only ones. Remember that if you search carefully you might even be able to find freeware. Using Internet for this search is a great solution. But I don’t advice you to download items from random sources and you can end up with errors, viruses and spyware right in the hub of your favorite device. Before installing an application make sure that it doesn’t damage your iPhone.

So, do you see now that the right choice of software for the iPhone is a crucial choice? The last fact I would like to draw your attention to is the fact that price/quality ratio is the thing I recommend you to go by.
